Motorcycle Unit's Honda Gold Wings
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a MC
cop! It's not too late?
1996 Interstate. Passenger pegs are
removed. A radar gun can be seen behind the red flashing light.
2000 Aspencade. Custom single seat with
extra lumber support.
Trunks are saved so when these Wings
retire, everything is put back to normal and sold to the public. This Wing
has a hand held radar gun mounted near the right grab bar while the
other bike has a stationary radar for both front and rear.
I assume they use floorboards for comfort,
sacrificing bank angle and precise shifting and breaking. Maybe
because traditional HD police bikes use floorboards?
Black box with 3 red windows is the radar
unit. White box must be the computer to access vehicle information and
criminal records. I wonder what is in between?
I thank the SAPD Motorcycle Unit officers for allowing me to
take some pictures and keeping our roads safer by putting their life at risk!
