The Alamo -  San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas

Where is San Antonio, Texas?  It is in the south-central region of Texas.  Its population is about 1 million within the city limit, and 1.4 million including the adjacent area within Bexar County.  It is located southeast  of the Texas Hill Country, Texas motorcyclists' haven, and we have year-round-riding weather!  The city is known for the Alamo and the River Walk.  Summer is hot, but not humid (like in Japan).  So, it's quite comfortable.

SAPD uses Honda Gold Wings.  There are 22 Honda Gold Wings on duty.  The trunk is replaced with a light bar and radio equipment.  It also has an on-board police computer to access all sorts of data.  There are two radar guns for both front and rear directions.  For more pictures, follow the navigation button, "SAPD Bikes."

My Favorite Rides Through The Texas Hill Country

I love riding through the Hill Country.  Yes, the area may not be hilly enough for some people, but if you know the right roads, you will actually find tight curves and steep hills.  Really, there are some spectacular roads and scenery.  Plus, even on weekends, many of the cycle roads have very little or no traffic!  Of course, you'll always want to look out for deer!  There are more deer than people out there.   What I find interesting is the loose livestock you encounter in rural area.  I'm talking about mostly cattle.  Devices called cattle guards are strategically placed in the pavement  to keep cattle from walking over to the next area.  I had no idea what they were at first.  In the picture gallery, I will introduce my favorite roads in the Texas Hill Country.
